Wayne County NC Deed book 19 page 504 shows
James Dickinson on Aug 14th 1845 (around two years after his fathers death) putting items up to cover a debt to be forfeited if the debt is not paid. Among them is a tract of land of "his father's" he purchased "at the sale", one other tract, his interest in slaves Tempy, Jesus, Mary and her children (which his father, William, had willed to his executor Elijah Coleman but this shows some type of continuing interest by family members, the last item put up was his interest in the "books and notes of the Firm of Peacock and Dickinson" about which I know nothing further.
