  Obituary in Charleston Gazzette newspaper. Sunday, July 7, 1929:
 "Price Vass Dies
 Funeral services for Price Vass, 30, who died at a Montgomery hospital on Thursday afternoon of injuries received in the mines at Oswald were held from the Christian church of Beckley Saturday monring at eleven o'clock, the Rev. Ritchie Ware officitiating. Vass was fatally injured by a runaway trip of empty cars in the mines at Oswald on Thursday morning.
 He is survived by his widow, Less Vass, and four children: Alburn, Margaret, Elsworth adn Mary Lou Vass. His mother, Mrs. Cora Meadows and four half-brothers and four half-sisters also survive him. The brothers and sisters are Paul, John and Orin Meadows of Beckley; and David Meadows of Detroit, Mich.; Ella Bertie Meadows of Beckley; Hallie Meadows of Charleston, and Mrs. Alexander Arthur of Mount Hope."
