 PIONEER CITIZEN SUCCUMBS AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS
 Another of Crescent City's prominent and beloved residents passed on this week, when Richard D. Bray, 82 (sic) years of age, and for more than 50 years a resident of this city, passed away after a lingering illness.
 Mr. Bray, who had been failing rapidly of late years, had been confined to his home for the past few months, and death was not unexpected, which occured on Wednesday morning.
 For more than 40 years of his residence in Crescent City, Mr. Bray was employed by Hobbs, Wall & Co. but retired several years ago from active work.
 He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Bray of this city; two sons, Roland Bray of this city, and Tom Bray of Linwood, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. George Berry of Berkeley; Mrs. George Lanz (sic) of Sawtelle; Mrs. Clifford Bedwell of San Francisco, and Mabel Bray of Berkeley.
 Mr. Bray for many years was one of the leaders in civic work in Crescent City, and was known by practically every resident of the county, all of whom were grieved to hear of his death.
 Funeral services for Mr. Bray will be held from the Roeder Funeral Home here tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 3 o'clock.
