 Recent Death of Edwin A. Moore at Berkeley
 Edwin A. Moore of this city passed away at the Alta Bates hospital in Berkeley on Wednesday, Feb. 9th, at the age of 83 (sic) years. He had been in ill health for over a year and about eight years ago resigned as art instructor on the faculty of Del Norte high school and only recently left to make his home with his niece, Mrs. George Berry of Berkeley.
 Mr. Moore came to Del Norte county from Battle Creek, Michigan, where he taught writing and drawing in the elemetary schools there. He held the same position in the local grammar school, later serving as county superintendent of schools. After giving up this work he joined the faculty of Del Norte high school, serving many years as art instructor, loved and respected by students and citizens alike.
 The deceased was affilliated with two fraternities in Crescent City, having been a long time member of both the Masonic and Odd Fellows lodges, serving both actively over a period of years.
 Mr. Moore leaves two nephews in Crescent City, Roland Bray and Wm. Hamilton, and a niece, Mrs. George Berry of Berkeley.
 Funeral services for the deceased were held in Berkeley on Thursday, where the remains were cremated. The ashes will be held there temporarily, later brought here for interment in the local cemetery.
