  Mt.Clemens, July 26, 1870
  Mr. S. O. Thomas.
  Dear Sir:
I write you at the request of Mrs. Gertrude Moore, who lives about 5 miles from this place by road. I have known Mrs. Moore for many years,--Her husband died some fifteen years ago. Mrs. Moore claim to be one of the heirs of "The Anneke Jans Property" and thus she trace her genology.
Her father was Francis B Cook, her grandfather was Barnabas Cook, his wife was Martial Mowerson, before marriage. Mrs. Moore great grandfather was Francis Cook. His wife was Lena Brown before her marriage. Lena Brown's mother was a Kersted and her grandfather on the mothers side was a son of Hans Kersted and her great grandmother was Sara Jants, the daughter of Anneke Jants. Mrs.Moore has many papers relative to "The Anneke Jans Property among which is a bond executed, Wm. Jinkins and and Charles Quimby, dated 24th of Auguest 1866, conditioned to pay to her (Mrs. M.) certain moneys they may recover from the Rector Church, Wardens or Vestrymen of Trinity, Church, in the city of New York, etc. This bond has been sent to her by Jinkims and Quimby with a request that she execute to them a Quit Claim Deed of her interest as such heir in "The Anneke Jans Property." She does not know what is best for her to do; and knows nothing about the responsibility of the said Jinkins and Quimby and wishes your advice and direction.
At her request I send a copy of this letter to Mr. N.W. Drake, Albion, Michigan.
  Respectfully, etc.
  R.P. Eldredge.

of service to her in closing of her claims.
