Note: Daddy-Pa and Granny bought their license at the Pickens Couty Courthouse, Pickens, SC and "got married that night by Judge E.A. Lewis, 'a one arm judge' ". Troy Galloway Troy Pickney Galloway, 88, of 326 Turner Road, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Born in Transylvania County, N.C., he was the son of the late Earl P. and Mary Jane Sizemore Galloway. He retired from General Electric and was a member of Cannon Mountain Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sarah Oleta Hamet Galloway, of the home; two daughters, Edna Vaughn, and her husband, Dr. Melvin, of Duncan, Linda Pollitt, and her husband, Caleb, of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Troy Erwin Galloway, and his wife, Ida, of Enon Valley, Pa., and Charles Alvin Galloway, of the home; a sister, Emma Rhinehart, of Canton, N.C.; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters, Nellie Vaughn and Dorothy Waldrop. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cannon Mountain Baptist Church, with burial at Grand View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at The Howze Mortuary. The family will be at the home. The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.
