a. Note:   Andrew S. Hamet
  Andrew S. Hamet, 85, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Troy Galloway, in Bates Crossing community near Slater yesterday, at 4 a.m. after a period of declining health.
 He was a son of the late Rev. Asbury Hamet, a Methodist minister, and the late Nancy Jones Hamet. His early life was spent in Henderson County N.C. For 20 years he lived in the Glassy Mountain section of Greenville County, but moved to the Bates Crossing Community near Slater three years ago. He was a retired farmer.
 He was a member of Glassy Mountain Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class and was a deacon.
 Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maybelle McGaha Hamet; 3 daughters, Mrs. John Bail of Brevard, Mrs. Jim Hester and Mrs. Troy Galloway of Slater; 2 sons, Bob Hamet of Greer and Charles Hamet of Cleveland, Ohio; 23 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Glassy Mountain Baptist Church by Rev. Ralph Abercrumbie, Rev. John Warren and Rev. James L. Brown. Burial will be in Dunn's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery near Brevard.
 Pallbearers will be grandsons: Troy Galloway Jr., Melvin Vaughn, Kenneth Hester, Richard Payne, Charles Monroe and Carroll Hamet.
 Honorary escort will be deacons and Men's Bible Class of Glossy Mountain Baptist Church, with Will Moon, Joshua Howard, Rev. Silas Bradley, Dr. James A. Howard, Rev. Paul Tanksersly, Dr. T.E. Coleman, Rufus Medford, Rev. Oscar Bolin, W.C. Hunt, Clyde Raines, Holton Morrow, Ed gar Mitchell, Charlie Finley, Jake Lyerle, C.P. Forester and W.G. Miller.
 After 2 p.m. today the body will be at the home of Mrs. Galloway.
