  SLATER -- Jim Conway Hester, 73, of 44 Webster St., died Saturday.
 He was a retired employee of Renfrew Bleachery.
 Surviving are his wife, Elmeda Hamet Hester of the home; sons, James C. Hester of Anderson and Kenneth M. Hester of Greer; daughters, Frances H. Monroe and Barbara H. Payne, both of Travelers Rest and Jean H. Mailin of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; brothers, Joe B. Hester of Easley and Henry Hester of Travelers Rest; and sister, Hattie Aiken, Mamie Griffin and Jessie Griffin, all of Greenville, Annie Hunt and Lillan Waddell, both of Slater, and Ruby Tankersley of Dacusville.
 Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Slater Church of God.
 Visitation: 7 - 8:30 p.m. Sunday at The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest.
