 Lewis Vaughn was shot to death while walking home from a union meeting for the coal mines. Lewis was attempting to get the unions in the mining camps. He was ambushed and no one was ever convicted of his murder. Lewis is buried at Stoney Fork Hollow in Middlesboro Kentucky. This was a mining camp. Source: Daughter Nellie Vaughn Ballard.
