Note: 5 Sep 2010 from: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/h/a/g/Daniel-D-Hagin/FILE/0016text.txt 1850 Federal Census (Madison County, FL) 1850 madison 162 162 Perryman Moody 63 M Farmer Georgia b abt 1787 Jeremiah Moody 23 M none Georgia 1827 Nancy Moody 18 F Georgia 1832 Betsey Moody 15 F Georgia 1835 James Moody 13 M Georgia 1837 1860 Census has him still in Madison County, FL There's my Nancy! According to LDS Record Search, Perryman married Susan Kemp (there's that name again!) in 1821....he's also listed on the 1850 and 1860 Census! ---from Genforum.genealogy.com, there is a note that says: There is a Pereman Moody listed as a soldier in the Florida Volunteer Militia in 1840. In 1837 a Perry Moody is listed in a North Florida unit of the Militia serving in the Second Seminole War. Also there's another note that confirms my thoughts about Perryman and Gabriel being brothers who later named sons after each other. That same post mentions that my Perryman was part Indian and volunteered to fight with General Jackson in the Seminole wars. This is what brought him to Florida (where he volunteered again) and later he stayed, putting down roots.
