a. Note:   9 Sep 2010 All info on Francis Myres to date comes from 1850 US Census for Indiana, Sand Creek Township, Decatur County. Francis (60) listed as having wife Louisa(45), and children Milder A. (sp?)(18), John(15), and Susan(12). In 1870, John listed as 37 which makes 1833 his birthdate (wife Samantha was listed as 28 (1842). On this page of the 1850 Census, John's birth would be 1835.
  What leads me to believe this is my John is that two families down, is on Ben Stevens, who has a daughter named Samantha who was 10 in 1850. Making her 10 years younger than John. This is the same Township that in 1870, John and Samantha are living in...then they are listed as 9 years apart....it's GOT to be the same people! Amazing to find both families on one page! They must have been neighbors and grew up together...lifelong sweethearts!
  Francis is listed as a farmer with real estate valued at $300 ($1200 today) and is listed as unable to read and write.
