Notes
a. Note:   b.1839/40. Birth cert 1840; 'Girl. Thomas Cox. Mary Cox formerly Sales. Grocer. Thomas Cox, Father, Peel Place.' Married 9/4/1860 All Saints, Wandsworth, aged 20; so born 1839/40.
  Age at 1881 census is 41: shown as widow, head of household, at 113 Lavender Rd, Battersea. Occupation: Grocer. Birthplace given as Kensington, Middx.
  Date of wedding to Charles Bowley from West's Pedigree 35C3: she is 950
  Her niece is shown variously as Celia or Cecilia. Wonder if the same is true of this Celia, of whose birth there appeared at first to be no record 1839-40: named only as "Girl"
  Buried W.Wittering churchyard; by SW path; gives dob 27.10.1839.
b. Note:   Birthdate 27.10.1839 on MI ++ Peel Place is now the NW part of Kensington Church St:
 Booth's Poverty Map of London shows Peel Place as Pink/Red;
 Pink: "Fairly comfortable. Good ordinary earnings."
 Red: "Middle class. Well-to-do."
  Booth says [much later in 1898] : "North of Bedford Gardens, Church Street is known as Peel Place on the west side (Shops 2 & 3 storied) and Bedford Terrace on the east (shops 3 floors). From the north some private houses and shops. Pink barred to Red. Pink barred on map."
 In other words, what was called Peel Place is now the west side of Kensington Church Street north of Bedford Gardens - presumably as far as the junction with Notting Hill Gate.
 Of the southern end of Church Street: "4 storied shops. good on West side. Families living over...."
