a. Note:   Name given as Sale in West's Pedigree 35 contd C Date & place of birth: 1881 census; 0656 19 30 1341152 age 62 so born 1818/19. By 1881 she is widowed; shown as head of household at 8 Dane Hill, Wandsworth, living with her are her children Alfred, Janet and Wilfred, all unmarried. Edgar seems to have disappeared. [Dane Hill not in current AtoZ, nor can I find it on the 1894 O.S.Map].
  I always had a feeling they came from Essex. Wonder if my mum told me. [But where did I find out she was called Sales? I know it was v.early on in researches - say 1996?]
 Wedding cert. has 'Full age' only. Address at wedding: 25 Molyneux St. She has signed it herself, as has her husband. Witnesses Henry Montague Jnr. and Elizabeth Montague.
  1901C: 12 Lebanon Gardens, age 80, b.Longton Essex; presume Loughton, which is near Chigwell.
