 Obituary: Dr. A.W. Speedy Fatally Stricken by Heart Attack. Local Denti
 st was native of Indiana; former Army Officer.Dr. Arthur William Speed
 y, 53, well known local dentist, died suddenly at 10:30pm whileprepari
 ng to leave the Miltenberger cottage in nearby Somerset Country. Dr. Spee
 dy had just entered the car after spending the evening at thecottage, wh
 en he was stricken. Coroner P. C. Dosch of Somerset County conducted an in
 vestigation. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Though Dr. Speedy h
 ad been able to work, he had not been in good health for the past six mont
 hs. He had formerly practiced in Johnstown, then had left for McKees Rock
 s, Braddock and Florida, returning to Johnstown about 1937 and resuming pr
 actice at 130 Market St. Dr. Speedy was a first lieutenant in the Army Den
 tal Corps in WOrld War I. He was a member of the local posts of the Ameri
 can Legion and the V.F.W> and was identifed with Masonic groups. He w
 as a member ofthe First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Speedy was born in Indi
 ana County on Nov. 8, 1891, a son of the late James and Ida (Shields) Spee
 dy. He was educatedin Indiana County and attended the Normal School, lat
 er graduating from the dental school of the University of Pittsburgh. Sur
 viving are two sisters - Mrs. John M. Pierce and Mrs. J.C. Flude, Irwi
 n. Fridns are being received at the H.M. Picking & Sons Mortuary. Funer
 al arrangements are incomplete.
