 BENJAMIN L. ANDERSON Sr. , was a native of Tyrone, Ireland and came to the United States at the age of four years with his parents, James and Mary Ann (Carson) Anderson. They lived in Jamestown, NY for a number of years and later moved to Pennsylvania, where Benjamin worked in the oil fields. During the Civil War he enlisted with Company K, 57th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and he served throughout the war. Mr. Anderson took part in in many important battles and skirmishes of the war and was wounded.
 Mrs. Anderson was born in Pennsylvania on Dec. 19,1847, and died Feb. 2, 1915. They were parents of the following children: Fred, lives in Arkansas; Benjamin L. lives in Cockrell Twp of Chariton Co., Mary, deceased, William lives in ND, Jane Buchanan (correct name is Bushong*) lives in ND, Etta Cupp lives in ND, Edith Bailey lives in ND, Clint Lives in ND, and Frances Bailey, also lives in ND. * Correction by Vance A.
