  Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Hoffman McFarland, a life-long resident of the district, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Beinhauer Mortuary 2630 W. Liberty Ave.
  Mrs. McFarland died Saturday at her home 526 Berkshire Ave., Brookline.&nbsp; She was in her 92nd year.
  Mrs. McFarland, a member of the Brookline Methodist Church, leaves two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Ila Ringwalt, of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Mary A. Cullison, of Phoenix, Ariz., three sons, Edward M. of Pittsburgh, Howard C. of Cleveland, and Clarence A. McFarland of Washington, D.C., eight grandchildren, and seven gret-grandchildren.&nbsp;
  A native of Noblestown, she had been a resident of Brookline for 37 years.
