Note: a.Prior to moving to Vancouver uncle Albert and Jean Bowen lived in Amber Valley Alberta across the Road from Lester Mapp's farm.Albert was the minister for the Amber Valley community for many years,my first memory of going to church is hearing Uncle Albert sing and play the guitar.Albert had a beautiful voice and was a very good singer and he also played the guitar very well.Albert also lived at New Brook Alberta a small community approximately 45 miles from Amber Valley.He was the minister for this community for years proir to moving back to Amber Valley.Albert helped and worked for many of the area farmers at harvest time.He drove uncle Boadie's farm truck and hauled all the grain cattle etc. for Obadiah Bowen when he lived in Amber Valley.I can remember him being at our place helping my dad at harvest time,stooking grain,thrashing etc.One of the great memories I have is going to Uncle Albert's and aunt Jean's at Christmas time with the horses and sled.I expecially remember Albert driving my dad's team at thrashing time because he used to haul such big loads,and I used to wonder how he could ever climb up on top of the load to drive into the thrashing machine.He was well liked and respected by all in the community and it was a real lost to the Community when he moved to Vancouver.
