Don't know wherethey were from but with 4 children, one of them should havemarried in Charlotte Co if the family stayed around - Or maybethey were all married before 1765. My material only covers the1765 - 1815 time period._________________________________________________________________In John Stanton's will in 1783 in Charlotte County, Va., he leftto his son Zachariah Stanton 5 shillings, to son William Stanton5 shillings, to daughter Salley 1 mare named Poll and half ofall his household estate and furniture, to son Lewis Stanton 200acres of land on Wallace Creek on which John at that time livedand one half of his household furniture. John Stanton bought 4head of cattle and 3 horses from David George. Witnesses wereJohn Hollaway, William Dickerson, Daniel Slaton & William East. Will try to explore these other people to see about daughters ofmarrying age. This one is better--- 3 Oct 1768. John Stantonbought 200 acres from Thomas More. The property was bounded byJames Adams, Richard Bays, Logan and the widow Henry. Nowitnesses. Sounds like the 200 acres later willed to Lewis. AlsoJames Adams was a witness to John Stanton's will. 1768 would bea few years before the birth of Lewis. Definitely will check outthis Adams family if I can. bye for now.
