 "Willow, April 30---Our inhabitants were startled Wednesday by the news of the death of Linwood Lane, a resident of this place. Friday, as an item in last week's news showed, Mr. Lane was working on the road, although at that time he had a severe cold. Saturday he was taken to his bed by an attack of measles, and rapidly grew worse until death relieved his terrible suffering on Wednesday at about noon. The funeral was held from the house on Friday, Rev. Cornford officiating. Interment in cemetery of W.M. church. Mrs. Sarah Lane, of Kingston, arrived home last Wednesday to attend the funeral of her son, Linwood Lane. Lake Hill, April 30---Linwood Lane died very suddenly at his home on Wednesday of last week. He leaves a wife and one child to mourn his loss. Eugene Carl, of Kingston, was in this place one day last week to attend the funeral of his nephew."---The Kingston Argus, Kingston, Ulster County, New York, issue Wednesday, 2 May 1900.
 "Willow, May 12---Do not forget to attend the auction sale to be held this week Saturday at 10 o'clock at the late residence of Linwood Lane. Household goods, farming implements and live stock will be sold. Come and get a bargain. Mrs. Sarah Lane is to conduct the auction sale of her son's property."---The Kingston Argus, Kingston, Ulster County, New York, issue Wednesday, 16 May 1900.
 "Lake Hill, May 21---D. M. Hoyt was the auctioneer at the vendue at Mrs. Alfred Lane's on Friday last. There were not bidders enough to buy all that was for sale.
