Note: Charles (SSN 093-07-7273), aka Kurt Dorn, immigrated to the United States 1891 with his father, Emil. In 1907 and 1908, he was employed as a janitor, residing at 47 East 44th St., NY, NY. In 1915, Charles was initiated/passed/raised in Free and Accepted Masons of New York, Greenwich Lodge 467. His membership was suspended in 1935 because of non-payment of dues. (Note: Greenwich Lodge 467 consolidated with Sagamore-Naphthali Lodge 371 in 1971, which subsequently consolidated with Corinthian Architect Lodge 488 in 1996, and is known now as Heritage Lodge 371.) Charles' membership application would be of great value but all efforts to obtain any documents from the Masons has failed, supposedly due to the effort required to locate them after all the lodge consolidations. At the time of his marriage to Mildred in 1925, Charles was residing at 251 Columbus Pl., Hudson Heights, Bergen Co., NJ and was employed as a salesman. In 1936, he applied for a social security number, was residing at 73 West 105th St., NY, NY and was employed by Harry Weinstock at 601 West 183rd St., NY, NY. Charles resided with his daughter Ruth for about three months prior to his death at her home at age 74 of congestive heart failure due to emphysema and pulmonary fibrosis. Charles was buried in Margaretville Cemetery, Margaretville, Town of Middletown, Delaware County, New York, no marker.
