a. Note:   James immigrated to the United States 08 May 1876 aboard the ship Wyoming, port of departure Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland, port of arrival New York. James appears on ship's list as age 45, occupation laborer, travelling steerage with sons George, age 10, and Richard, age 8. James was naturalized 05 June 1885 at Common Pleas Court, New York County, at which time he was residing at 252 West 41st Street, New York City, occupation porter. James died testate, a resident of 424 East 73rd Street, probate Surrogate Court, Manhattan, New York County, New York, will dated 25 Jan 1893, proved 30 Mar 1907. James died of "simple fracture of neck of right femur, hyperstatic pneumonia, accidental fall from a car", coroner's inquest, and was buried in St. Michaels Cemetery, East Elmhurst, Queens County, New York, Grave 130, Row 13, Plot 5, no stone or marker.
