Note: Lillie Mae lived at 918 N. Central, Silom Springs, Arkansas when she applied for her social security card. She was 42 years old at the time of the application. She was the only child in her family born with red hair. Her mother's name on her birth certificate was Margaret Jane Eller Harmon. Parents ages 20 & 27. no mentioning of multiple births. It states it is a delayed certificate of birth. Father's Birth place - Mena AR and mother's birthplace also Mena AR. Uncle Elmer signed for it - witness of birth (home birth) dated 8-12-1966
Grandma & Pa lived in Yuba City in 1955 when they had a flood and she lost a lot of her pictures including Aunt Neoma's 8th Grade graduation certificate.
Aunt Neoma told me that Grandma had long hair and that she threatened to cut it off if Grandpa wouldn't stop drinking, he was a Friday night drinker. Well one day (or night) he came home and she had her hair wrapped up in a diaper, she had cut it off. He stopped drinking after Aunt Neoma and Aunt Mae were born.
Aunt Ella and Aunt Neoma says that Lillie is half Irish and half Cherokee.
Nancy Reynolds says: Aunt Lillie called Mom (Letha) Lee and her children
called her Aunt Lee. Aunt Lillie called her (Arvilla) Bill, thus her children called her Aunt Bill. Mom had no idea where the name Bill came, but it adds a little twist when trying to follow a linage.
