Subj: [nixonjohnwgenealogy] Death of Eleanor Jones Nixon
Also, has anyone seen any new and more definitive information about when and where Eleanor/Ellender Jones, wife of John Wallace Nixon, died?
I'd been guessing only sometime after 1870 since she was seen in the 1870 Census. But she appears on a Property Tax Role in 1872, with 350 acres of land in Chestnut Log, Campbell Co., GA ... E.E. Nixon shown as her Agent. I'm wondering if E. E. was acting as Agent because she'd died without a will, because she was disabled and couldn't make it to the tax payer's office, or if she'd moved to Alabama with one of her other children, and ultimately died there (or remarried?).
Another old puzzle still not solved.
