 Name: Mrs. M. E. Nixon
 Widow of: T. J. Nixon to whom, in the County of Campbell, State of Georgia she was married on the 20th day of December, 1868 and that she remained his wife, and resided with him to his death in Oct, 22, 1923 and that she has not since his death remarried. At the time of his death he was a resident of Douglas County, in said State of Georgia, and he was on the Indigent Pension Roll of the State and paid a pension of $100.00 in Douglad County for 1923 per annum, on account of his being a soldier in Glenns Battery Confederate States Volunteers.
  That she is now a bona fide resident citizen of said County of Douglas and she has so continuously resided since 1st day of January 1870. (Note: Douglas Co was created on January 1, 1870 from the part of Campbell county which was northwest of the Chattahoochee River.)

 Population (1880): white 5,454, colored 1,470
  Salt Springs:
 Located 8 miles northeast of Douglasville, 16 miles from Atlanta, near the Beaver Run and Sweetwater creeks, which furnish power for gins, grist and saw mills. The tributary population is 300. Contains a common school, Methodist Episcopal Church South. Mail stages daily to Atlanta and Douglasville.
