Adam Weirich, farmer and stock-raiser, is a native of Lebanon county,Pa., born July 16, 1827, the youngest son of John and Elizabeth (Rupe)Weirich. When he was four years of age his parents moved to Wayne County, Ohio,and there he grew to manhood, living with his parents till his maturity.He then learned the blacksmith�s trade, serving an apprenticeship of twoyears. He worked as a journeyman two years and engaged in business for himselftwo years in Stark County and then returned to Wayne County and followedhis trade till 1858, when he moved to De Kalb County, Ind., and settled ona tract of second-handed land he had previously bought. This he hascleared and improved and to his original purchase of ninety acres has addedthirty- five acres, having now a fine farm of 125 acres. He has also workedat his trade in connection with farming and has been very successful, having acquired a competency for his old age. He was married Oct. 8, 1851,to Martha (Wise) Sidle. They have had seven children---Martha E., wifeof W.H. Gardner; Adam S., Jacob M., Sarah J., Samuel M., James W., and Catherine E. Mr. and Mrs. Weirich are members of the Lutheran church.
