Note: Jack, for whatever reason changed his name, from John Joseph Hanley Jr,. to Jack William Mott, and it remained as such until his death. His 5 children were all given the Sur name of Mott. He was married to Velia for 25 yrs. He later remarried a woman named Gloria. He served in WWII....Coast Guard.1941-1945. He was radar man operator 2nd class aboard troop transport, also served on C.G. Cutter.He was on the Hunter Liggett, 03-01-31-1944. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal w/Bronze star; European-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medal; American Area Campaign Medal; Asiatic-Pacific area Campaign Medal, w/numeral 1&2 bronze stars for the following:
I-Invasion & supply during Treasury & Bougainvillea Operation.
II-Combat w/the enemy
