Note: Philippe Maese Romero,husband of Bilu started working as a stone mason and learned many things about construction.He read extensively and taught himself about construction profession.He was well known and respected for his work.He loved his wife and she loved him very much.They lived with a lot of family strife and fighting.Philippe developed a serious heart angina problem and later died in the arms of Vera ,his seven year old Granddaughter,who they had taken to raise.He loved Vera very much and spent a lot of time with her,often took her with him to check on his work.She would Later benefit greatly from this experience as she grew to adulthood.The memory and pride of her Grandfather would Mold her personality and self pride for life.Her grandmother Bilu was also very instrumental in this molding too.She continued to raise Vera after Philippe died.She also tried to look after the other children of her son Victor who was the father of Vera.Bilu would later go to court and take custody of all four children from Maria Loudres,their mother.Victor had left his family for another woman and started another family resulting in seven children.Bilu was in constant conflict with family members over money after Philippe's death.She would eventually spend most of the wealth.She left one house to her granddaughter Vera and the rest would be left to her children.Most of her later years were spent raising her granddaughter Vera whom she loved very much.Bilu was a good woman who loved the good life and knew how to live it.She loved Spanish music and dance. Bilu was awoman who knew how to get her desires realized and would not rest until she realized her wishes.She knew how to work the system to realize her wishes.The entire family revolved around Bilu and Philippe because of Philippe's success and their educated leadership in the family.Vera would later learn these traits and use them successfully.Many family members were and are very jealous of the attention Vera received from these Granparents,not surprising,but also no ones fault.This always put extreme pressure on Vera which often caused her to lash out at those who would like to persecute her for this attention.Written by Jesse lawrence 3/20/1997.
