  John Bennett's parents were William M. Bennett (1775c 1832c.) and Sarah McCubbin. William and Sarah were married in Hardin Co KY 22 May 1811. Family tradition has it that William drowned crossingGreen River. About 1842 Sarah the widow and her children except John moved to Caldwell County MO. The story of the move is documented in "History of Caldwell Co., MO" .
