  At the session of the Probate Court for said County, held at the Probation Office, in the
 City of Marshall, on
 The Eleventh day of August, in the year
 one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four
 Present George Ingewold, Judge of Probate. In the matter of the Estate of Clinton D. Ribble,
 Deceased.
  On reading and filing the petition duly verified, of Dewitt C. Ribble,
 praying, for reasons therein set forth, that Charles Walkinshaw may be appointed special Administator of said Estate,
 to collect, take charge, preserve and manage said estate until a general Administrator
 can be appointed, and said Charles Walkinshaw having declined to accept the trust,
 and it appearing to the satisfaction of the
 Court that said estate requires immediate care and attention, and that it is necessary that a special
 Adminstrator should be appointed for the purpose aforesaid,
 And that John Badger is competent and
 Suitable person to execute said trust:
  It is therefore Ordered, that said John Badger be, and
 he is hereby appointed special Administrator of
 said Estate with full power and authority to collect, take charge of,
 preserve and manage said estate, under the order and direction of the Court, until a general
 Administrator shall be appointed, or until discharged by said Court;
  And it is further Ordered that said John Badger make
 And return an inventory of said estate to this Court, within thirty days
 From the date of this order.
  And it is further Ordered, that [empty]
 Of said County be, and they are hereby appointed appraisers to appraise said estate.

  Petition For Appointment Of An Administrator
  State of Michigan,}
 County of Calhoun} ss.
  To George Ingersoll, Judge of Probate for said County.
  In the matter of Estate of Clinton D. Ribble deceased.
  The Petition of Dewitt C. Ribble whos of the age of twenty-one years and upwards, of the County of Gratiot respectively show :
  That Clinton D. Ribble departed this life on the Seventh day of August in the year of our Lord
 one thousand eight hundred and ninety four leaving no last will
 and Testament, as petitioner is informed and verily believe.
  That said deceased was, at the time of his death, an inhabitant of Penfield
 In said County of Calhoun that he was possessed of real and personal Estate situate and being in the County of to be administered and that the estimated value thereof
 Is the sum of Sixteen hundred Dollars, or thereabout, of which four hundred Dollars is personal
 Estate, as your petitioner is informed and verily believe.
  And your petitioner further shows that the names and resisdences of the heirs at law of said
 Deceased, and other persons interested in the estate, are as follows:
  Clinton D. Ribble of Gratiot County Michigan
 Doritha Badger of Penfield Calhoun County
 Cyntha Cook of Kalamazoo County
 being children of said deceased.
  George Fuller, Lottie Waman and
 Cenith Davison, children of Anna
 Fuller, a deceased daughter of
 said Clinton D. Ribble
 all are twenty one years of age
  Your petitioner therefore prays that administration of said estate may be granted
 To Charles Walkinshaw or some other suitable person, and that such other and further order and proceedings may be had in the premises, as may be required by the statute in such case made and provided.

  Petition for Appointment of Special Administrator or Guardian
  State of Michigan}
 County of Calhoun} ss Probate Court for said County.
  To George Ingersoll Judge of Probate for said County.
  In the Matter of the Estate of Clinton D. Ribble deceased.
  Your petitioner would respectfully represent to the Court that he is interested in said estate as heir at law of said deceased that application has been made to said Court for the appointment of an administrator of said estate, which application is now pending; that such appointment will be delayed on account of the length of notice thereof, required by law to be given to all persons interested, that there is real estate and personal property belonging to said estate, situate and being in said County and elsewhere, to be administered, and that the estimated value of the personal estate is the sum of four hundred dollars, and of the real estate, the sum of twelve[?] hundred dollars, or there about, as your petitioner is informed, and verily believes. Your petitioner further represents, that said estate consists of a farm of forty acres and personal property on the farm household furniture and that a special administrator of said estate should be appointed to collect, take charge of, preserve and manage the same for the following reasons, viz:
  To take & preserve[?] of the household goods and personal property and preserve the some from going to waste that it is in danger of being picked away by unauthorized persons..
  You petitioner, therefore, prays that Charles Walkinshaw may be appointed such special administrator, with all the powers and duties prescribed by law; and that such other and further order and proceedings may be had in the premises as may be required by the statues in such case made and provided.

  I write to tell you that circumstances are such that it is impossible for me to be at your court on the 7th Inst.to have the hearing in my partision[?] and must take this way to apprise you of my wishes in the matter I ask st---- --- do not appoint chosler[?] McDormit or Star Cook as such administrator but that you[?] do appoint some person that is willing to do the fair thing for the Estate if Possible I will be there or send a representative in my stead times are very close here with me and mony[?] is hard to get but I will try and be represented there there has quite a lot of personal property taken away from the premises since my father died and I wish to have it looked to and accounted for and I also wish to apprise you that there is a person -------- ------ of Cenouth Davison who claims to be an heir to a part of the Property left by my Father. But the facts are she is an Illegitatmet and not Entitalded to any part of the property if possible I would ask your honor a afforsaid as the administrator Homer B. Gibson who will consent to act as such administrator he is a person of Good Judgement and qualified in Proferaly[?] to the business and he is also omfly[?] ressonable for his acts as such now if Posible I ask you to appoint him as such administrator and he will come amediatly and straiton[?] out the business for us. Hoping this will be satisfactory I remain
