a. Note:   CASTLEWOOD � Roger Mack Ring, 68, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon. (He died at home in Castlewood and was pronounced dead at Lebanon) He was born in Dante, Va., son of the late Robert and Ethel Corum Ring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired miner from Clinchfield Coal Co. and a member of the U.M.W.A. He is survived by his wife, Judy Dye Ring; one daughter, Michelle "Shellie" Ring of Castlewood; two sons, Mitchell "Lennie" Ring of Castlewood and Michael "Mike" Ring and wife Lisa of Bland, Va.; two brothers, Wayne "Nob" Ring and wife Sue of High Point, Va., and Garfield Ring and wife Sue of Carterton, Va.; one sister, Faye Dingus and husband Denver of Rockford, Ill.; special brother-in-law, Ezra Dye of St. Paul, Va.; two grandsons, who were the light of Pop Pop's life, Dakota and Joshua Hays of Castlewood; one step-granddaughter, Samantha Hill of Rustburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Roger Mack Ring will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, with the Rev. Steve Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Military rites will be conducted by Lebanon VFW Post 9864. Pallbearers will be Lebanon VFW Post 9864. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood. Online condolences may be sent to the Ring family www.castlewoodfuneralhome.com.
