Wells Albert Dewitt Wells, 85, a patient in Roselawn Rest Home, Spencerville, and a former Lima resident, died 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in St. Rita's Hospital following a long illness. He was born Oct. 17, 1879, in Ostrander, the son of John and Elizabeth Wells. He was married to Helen Close, who died in 1962. Surviving are two sons, William W. of 237 Primrose Place and Nelson E. of Wooster; a daughter, Mrs. Allen Stauffer of Biglerville, Pa.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Wells was a member of Marysville Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason, affiliated with the Columbus Shrine. He also was a member of Market Street Presbyterian Church. He taught school in the Phillipines. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Basinger Funeral Home, Bluffton, with Rev. W. W. Duff officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of service.
