Note: ---John Futch, along with Solomon Futch and Thomas Futch, of Bulloch Co., GA., participated in the Georgia Land Lottery of 1805, taking two draws each. Of the three only Thomas Futch won a Prize (on the second draw). The rules of which stipulated Registrants eligible for one draw: 1. Must be a citizen of the United States. 2. Must be an inhabitant of the state of Georgia for twelve months immediately prior to the of the Act creating the lottery, dated May 11 1803. 3. Must be a free white male age 21 or older. 4. Or a member of a family of orphans (persons with both parents deceased or whose father was deceased and the mother remarried) and under the age of 21. Registrants eligible for two draws: 1. Must meet all qualifications listed above for entrants eligible for one draw 2. Must have a wife and/or legitimate child or children, one of whom is under age 21.
