Note: Cousin of William Bye PARENTS KNOWN TO BE NOT MARRIED TO EACH OTHER Frances Jane would tell her daughter in law (Annie Foreman nee Cunningham) of her earliest memory was of her mother (Emma) taking her to the railway station at Cambridge and putting her on the train to London to go in to domestic service, she was EIGHT YEARS OLD? Also told that her mother attended the last public hanging Met William Foreman when visiting sister Hetty in Middlesbrough. It is known that she was still working in London at the time. See letter in scrapbook which is from friends in London, Roberts Mews was located on Hanover Square about 3 miles from where she was working in 1901. Both addresses are within a short distance of Buckingham Palace Cousin of William Bye (husband of sister Hetty) Despite several searches we have been unable to determine who was the father of Emma Shipps children. It is possible that the parish records of Great Wilbraham will have a clue but I need to check them. My late mother (Annie Foreman nee Cunningham) told me that her mother in law told her that when the father was free to marry, Emma told him "that it was now too late" The names that both Henrietta and Francis Jane used on their wedding certificates for the father was invented. (but they knew) (Medical):death was suicide while her mind was temporarily unbalanced Not sure about location in 1891 she could have been working in London Paddington. Now confirmed see 1891 census Family folklore has her working as a maid for Helen TERRY. This would be sometime between 1879 - 1900 my mother who is relating the tale is in her mid eighty's and is recollecting conversations from 60 years ago. Mother has just remembered the name as Lady Helen TERRY
