a. Note:   When her husband Thomas died Ethel was left to bring up her large family on her own, this she did by keeping a series of successful secondhand shops. She also operated a stall at Middlesbrough market (now gone). The family addresses where all in Middlesbrough:- 52 Cannon St, then number 70 Cannon St then to another address also in Cannon St which was where Thomas died. They then moved to 5 Rushford St (behind Union St) then back to 70 Cannon St on to 4 Union St (now the site of t he Shipmate pub) then finally to Diamond Rd in the 1960s were she died. Lived to see her Great Great Granddaughter Christina Noblett (see under Mother Carol Lesley Foreman)
