Notes
a. Note:   Per Kathy (Schmidt) Catherine in an interview done in June 2007------About 1899 the Joseph Schoenfeld family (Joseph, wife Anna Margaretha, and daughters, Ursula and Marie) left Russia and traveled to Argentina. There the next three children, Joseph Jr, Suzanna, and Anna were born. But they decided that life in Argentina (Note: They may have traveled to Argentina, via Brazil) was not what they had been told, so they traveled back to Marienfeld, Russia, some time in late 1906 or 1907. The final three children (Stephan, Pauleen, and Lena) were born in Mairenfeld. But life in Russia was deteroriating as well. So they were off again. This time the family ended up in Canada. Update---Joseph Schoefeld arrived in the US in Oct 1911, through the port of Baltimore. He remained in the US until Mar 8, 1927 when he traveled to Canada, though the North Portal, Saskatchewan. He traveled without his family on both trips.
