Note:   Richard Lee "Dick" Whisenhunt - Greeley Tribune - (Aug/31/2007) Richard Whisenhunt March 10, 1945-Aug. 29, 2007 Age: 62 Residence: Greeley Tribute: Richard Lee "Dick" Whisenhunt was born in Denver to Skiffey Henry and Edith Fay (Sheesley) Whisenhunt. Mr. Whisenhunt served in the Army in Europe during the Vietnam War. After the serving in the Army, he lived in Brighton, where he worked for Kuner's. He later worked for Monfort Packing Co. from 1976-1991, when an injury at work forced him to stop. In his younger years, Mr. Whisenhunt enjoyed fishing, and after his injury, he took up latch hook. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan and has been for most of his life. Mr. Whisenhunt died Wednesday at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit in Greeley. All who knew him would agree that a fitting sentiment would be "Goodbye, Dick, ride 'em cowboy." Survivors: Two sisters, Carol Walker of Fort Lupton and Janice Greggs and husband David of New Castle, Wash.; a brother, Larry Whisenhunt and wife Sharon of Berthoud; two nephews and two nieces. Preceded in death by: His parents. Graveside services with military honors: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Staging area C at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
