Note: It is possible, even likely, that Mary was not the child or Burrell and Malinda. In the 1850 census she is already listed as 9 years old. That would put her birth 3 years before Burrell and Malinda were married. It is possible that Mary belonged to Malinda, but Malinda would have been only 15 when Mary was born. Certainly within the realm of possibilities. The most compelling evidence that Mary was not Burrell's daughter, comes from a deposition given by Burrell's 2nd wife, Harriet DEAL. She stated that Burrell and Malinda had nine children. Mary would make ten. Adding support that Mary was not Burrell & Malinda's (at least not together) was that she was listed last in the census. Usually the children are listed in birth order, right after the mother. Children listed last, out of order, are often "outside" somehow. Illegitimate or from another family are the two most likely reasons.
