Otherwise, as faithful as these families were to naming patterns, it would suggest that the following daughters, Clarinda (Clarissa) and Eliza were named for the grandmothers, but that doesn't track. There is no Temperance, Abigail or Sarah in this family, nor is there an indication other than the child missing who might have been born in 1804 to suggest there was a child born to this couple between Alvah and Clarinda. Would be looking for a Temperance or Mary, or Abraham. Other possible names are all accounted for. Nor is it clear why the names "Clarinda," Eliza," and "Alvah" or "Alfred" were chosen.
