Notes
a. Note:   o record was found of her after that. Decatur Co., IN began to keep death records in early 1882. Her single daughter, Mary Jane Paul, expired in Greensburg, IN in 1883. Therefore perhaps Clarinda expired between 1879 and early 1882. The St. Paul, IN Cemetery was developed on Paul land, that family being in-laws of Clarinda; no burial record for her or her husband, William Paul, have been located there.
Their farm was evidently 1/2 section north of Col. Pearce's west of St. Omer. Additionally, it would appear that her father may have been staying with her when he decided to move back with his son, Col. Pearce, walked over to ask if that would be alright, went back to collect his things and expired suddenly.
It would appear Clarinda may have raised Eli Kelsey Pearce, born 1815, if, indeed, his mother died in NY or OH; he named a daughter Clarinda, the only brother who did.
Clarinda Pearce Paul's children were: Mary Jane (1828 - 13 Aug. 1883, Greensburg, Decatur Co., IN) named for Mary Shepard Pearce. Frail health for years; single. Eunice Pearce, m. ____________Weyr (also reportedly m. Ed Hollenbe ?) named for paternal grandmother. William W. Paul, expired final days of incarceration at Andersonville Prison, GA, not of disease.
Surnames among descendants of Clarinda Pearce and William Paul: Weyr, Hollenbe ?
Note:   Clarinda Pearce Paul was listed on an oldtimers' roll published in Greensburg, IN in 1879; n
