a. Note:   accounted for as to their later life. However, their daughter Temperance, married Abraham Oldfield after her father's death. It is with the Oldfield family that William Willis and his brother Jonathan Pearce are found in about 1804 in Ontario Co., NY. The Oldfields resided near Abraham Shepard prior to the Battle of Minisink, 1779, which was either on Mount Pochuck in Sussex Co., NJ or near Amity, in Orange Co., NY a few miles away, both sites near Vernon, Sussex Co., NJ.
  If David Shepard was Abraham's father, Abraham was likely born about 1741-3 at the earliest. It seems unlikely that Abraham's son, Jonathan, was born by 1760. His brother James Shepard was born in 1762. By dates of her children's birth it would seem that daughter Mary Shepard most likely was born 1773-4 and she and Anna were supposedly the youngest. Son Abraham Shepard, II, was born about 1771. Temperance was supposedly the eldest daughter and may have been born in mid 1760s. Perhaps Jonathan was born more like before 1768 rather than before 1760?
