a. Note:   , KY. He then migrated to a site near Lebanon, OH, described as in Butler Co., OH in 1798, with six children, widowed mother Keziah, and most of his brothers and sisters.
  Mathias Corwin was the designated "messenger" for the Lebanon Baptist Church; described as a peacemaker. Highly regarded, he was justice of the peace, for 10 years a representative in theOH state legislature, speaker of the OH House in 1815 and 1824, presidential elector on the Madison ticket in 1812, an associate judge of the court of common pleas 1816-23, and a trustee of Miiami University, 1815-18. Three of his four sons, Mathias, Thomas and Jesse, became lawyers ("Notable Corwin Kin"). The Warren County History Museum in Lebanon reports it has collected a great deal of historical information on the Corwin family in America, including material of public interest on Gov. Thomas Corwin.
Note:   Mathias Corwin migrated to Fayette Co., PA, then Mason Co., KY in 1785, then to Bourbon Co.
