Note: 1. From "A Georgia Heritage", p. 4 Received 100 acres of land in Cumberland Co. from his father's estate probably in 1775. He and wife, Elizabeth, then granted the 100 acres on "both sides of Tanwallet Creek" to Robert Clopton. DB 5, p. 441. . . . Judgement was rendered against William Arnold Jr. of Cumberland Co., in favor of John Tabb of Amelia County (Prince Edward Co. Virginia Records at Large, District Court, 1789-1792). His name last appears in Cumberland Co. in October 1795.. . although it is doubtful he resided in Cumberland County at that time. He left his will in Halifax County in 1801, which he signed by mark as William Arnold, Sr. . . He and his wife may have had several children in addition to the son shown below.
