a. Note:   Friday, August 5, 1994/LAS VEGAS SUN/1B CHARLES B. MICHAEL Charles B. Michael, 86, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was, born Jan. 8, 1908, in Hugo, Okla. A 63-year resident, he was an operating engineer and a Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, Verda; two sons, Kenny Michael and Gregg Michael, and two daughters, Carolyn Hinze and Judy McNair, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Mattie DeVore of California, and Sue Baillie and Mili Guenthner, both of Florida; one brother, Robert H. Michael of Nevada; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Bunker Mortuary's chapel. Beat the gaming to Las Vegas. Moved to Las Vegas in 1932, dug ditches on Main St. for Morris-Knudsen. Left to work for Six Companies-building the Boulder Dam until completion. He was President of Boulder Bats Motor Cycle Club of Boulder City. He was a foreman for Cal Ship, building Liberty Ships in San Pedro, Ca., during World War II. He was Flat Track Motorcycle Champion rider in 1947-48-49. Returned to Las Vegas in 1946, worked for Tanner Motor Tours as Cab Maintenance Foreman-left to start own business, Aero Service Garage-313 No. Main. later known as Mike's Garage, later moved to 2632 Las Vegas Blvd. No. and was associated with being the 1st Case Equipment Dealer in NV until late '60's, then joined Operating Engineers & became an operator of heavy equipment & a Nevada contractor until his death. Services were held Saturday. August 6, 1994. Bunker Mortuary handled arrangements.
