We don't want any gold stars on it. Have your seen Elaine since her divorce? Ben wrote me and told me about it. Ben is going in for the same rate as mine (Fire Control). I heard from Mike (Charles) and Verda. I'm glad they got a boy this time. Has Mattie Jim had her kid yet? Do you ever hear from Bill or Rob? Bill's last address was Tech. Sgt. Wm. E. Michael in Brawley, CA October 1948 VALLEY MAN ELECTROCUTED George Gregory Michael, 25, Moreno Lake, a lineman for the Mountain Empire Electric Cooperative was electrocuted Thursday night while working near Laguna Mountain Lodge. He was working on installation of a new line at the time of his death it was reported. He had done a similar job on three other poles that afternoon, and was adjusting his safety belt when he apparently slipped and fell against a high voltage line. Michael, his wife, Norma, and daughter Kathleen, recently moved to Moreno Lake from Brawley. Before going to work for the cooperative, Michael was employed by the Imperial Irrigation District. He was a veteran of six years service in the Navy during the war and was awarded seven battle stars for action in the South Pacific. A graduate of Brawley high school, Michael joined the navy in 1940. He is survived by his widow, daughter, parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Michael, Westmoreland, four brothers and four sisters. His body was brought from El Cajon to Brawley for burial.
