Note: JOPLIN GLOBE, Tuesday, December 14, 1965 ROBERT GILMORE DIES AFTER ILLNESS Robert (Bob) Gilmore, 80, 923 West Third street, died at 8 o'clock Monday morning in Freeman hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks. Mr. Gilmore was born in West Plains April 4, 1885, and came to Joplin in 1932 from Houston, Tex. He was a member of the Bethel tabernacle. A former construction worker, Mr. Gilmore was employed with Messenger Publishing House in Joplin for 10 years prior to retiring in 1964. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice Gilmore, who he married in 1932; a son, Pat Gilmore of Riverside, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Connie Ellis of Norwalk, Calif. and Miss Alberta Gilmore of Houston: three brothers, George Gilmore of Canoga Park, Calif., Ottis Gilmore of DeLand, Fla., and Lester Gilmore of San Diego; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Michael of Brawley, Calif., Mrs. Verdie Maurer of Newhall, Calif. and Mrs. Dephia Harmon of the state of California and three grandchildren. Hurlbut, Mix and Booe funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
