Notes
a. Note:   Email from G Leenhouts 2/5/2001: Due to the untiring work of cousin Delores Jeffs, we have found the death information for grandmother Maria Goodar Cunningham. Interestingly enough, it was right in my back yard. My mother had shared with me that she remembers her Aunt Hannah Cunningham Curtis living here in Rochester. When I shared this information with Delores, she put two and two together and started searching for Maria's death in Rochester. I have a vyer fuzzy copy of Maria's death certificate sent to me courtesy of Delores. Here is the information: Maria Cunningham 76 Manhattan Street, Rochester, NY Date of death: February 9, 1922 Date of birth: Feb 21, 1831 Age: 90 years, 11 months, 16 days. Widow of Abraham Cunningham Birthplace: Warsaw, PA Name of father: John Goodar (tooooooooo weird???) Name of mother: Rebecca Carr Cause of death: Cerebral hemmorrhage Place of Burial: DuBois, PA, Feb 11, 1922 Information reported by: Kathryn Curtis (daughter of Aunt Hannah). Length of residence in city where death occured: 3 years. Length of residence is in direct correlation with the data I have for my own grandparents. It seems that Maria, daughters Anna and Hannah and their families all moved from DuBois to Rochester in 1919. All of the residences listed for them were all in the same general area of downtown Rochester. They all lived in one house for a year or so. Mystery: Why did Kathryn Curtis list John Goodar as her father? I'm not sure if you all recall, but we have had contact with the descendnats of John Goodar from Michigan. We have not been able to make a direct connection. But it is very interesting that he lived in the Town of Gates, in the mid 1800's, now a suburb of Rochester.
