Notes
a. Note:   Adam Albert & Nancy Lutz Added by leenhout on 7 Jun 2009 Originally submitted by kandy1949 to Albert Family Tree on 7 Jan 2009 Adam Albert settled near Beaver Run, about four miles from the town of Philipsburg, Centre Co. Leaving Philadelphia, traveling westward to Lancaster then on to what is now Centre County. At that time it was a vast wilderness, inhabited by Indians and wild animals, especially bear, buffalo, wolves and mountain lions, along with rattlesnakes. He owned and operated a grist mill on Beaver Run which was classed as a young river. It was teeming with fish and beaver. This being the first grist mill in central Pennsylvania. Adam's sons took up the logging industry and operated many logging camps. Edward owned Albert's Tavern on the Erie Pike, which was the only road at the time. All stage coaches used the tavern on their way East and West. Rebecca Litz's father, David Rudolph Litz was the first man to raft logs down the Susquehanna river. After the lumbering business declined, clay and coal brought hugh profits to the Albert Brothers. Through legal dealings with outside interests, all rights were lost to them. Most of the Albert family have migrated west with the exception of the Howard Albert family. This family has dealt mostly in farming and the coal business. (This information I received from my father, Clarence Albert, which he received from ?. It was researched by someone and given to my father on his geneology of the Adam Albert family.) ((The above is what I know about my family and my ancestors on my father's side (Clarence Albert, son to Newton and Myrtle (Parsons) Albert, Newton's father and mother: Howard and Eunice Mare (Cole) Albert, from an Albert Family Geneology paper my father had.) The children of Adam Albert and Nancy Lutz (or Litz as other papers show) are listed in order here of birth: Adam Jr., Henry, Edward, George, James, William, Elizabeth, and one other but unknown name. James married Rebecca Litz and had these children listed in order of birth: Elizabeth, Sylvester, Rudolph, John, Philena, Howard, Alvin and several others whose names and number are unknown. Howard married Eunice Marie Cole and had eight children listed in birth order: Newton (my grandfather on my father's side), Frank, Jennie, Mary, Lawrence (listed as deceased on my info), Laura, Nettie, and Martha. Newton, my grandfather, married Myrtle Jane Parsons and had seven children: (I do not know the exact birth order) Henry, Milford, Clarence, Harry, Esther, and Evelyn (not sure about Evelyn), Myrtle died and then Newton married Ophelia Rowin Fahr. (Note on Ophelia: she was married to Charles Fahr and because of a railroad accident--Charles and two sons died, leaving Ophelia a widow, she then married Newton Albert.) Newton and Ophelia then had Gloria. I give this information, understanding that some may be in error as I have received different accounts on some of the last names and different spellings. I have tried my best to keep the information as accurate as possible. My name is Kathy Ann Albert, daughter of Clarence and Gloria Albert. ***************************************************************************************** IGI Individual Record FamilySearch?
