Note: he 1900 and 1910censuses for Archuleta County, Co and also shows up on a 1905 tax listfor Archuleta County, CO. Andrew - I remember seeing James Waber while he was visiting his brotherTom on the old Waber farm. I was about ten years of age, about 1920. He was dressed about the sameas in your picture. He & Tom (my grandfather) were sitting, visitingand James was whittling with a very sharp jacknife, making small, curlyshavings. Another memory - he was just returning to the home after along, long walk. He was carrying a bag of butternuts which he had found.Remember especially his long white beard and solemn features.(thanks forthe picture) Jim A. Note: James Waber is listed as residing in Sharp's Creek Township, McPhersonCounty, KS with his brother Henry in the 1870 and 1875 censuses. His postwar residence was listed as Boulder, CO.
