a. Note:   AMBROSE G. SEELYE A HIGHLY RESPECTED CITIZEN OF WESTMORELAND WHO DIED SATURDAY It is with great regret that we record the death of Ambrose G. Seelye, anold and esteemed resident of Westmoreland, which occured Saturday. He wasborn 73 years ago in the town where death overtook him, and had spentmost of his life there. By occupation he was a farmer, but for a numberof years had been in the lumber business. At one time he held the officeof road commissioner and superintended the building of the stone roadfrom Whitetown to Westmoreland. Mr. Seelye was an ardent Republican inpolitics and was a member of the Methodist Church. The deceased issurvived by a wife and four daughters, Mrs. C.J. Vedder of St. Augustine,Fla.; Mrs. C.P. Slone, of Yorkville; Mrs. E.E. Edgerton, of Clayville;and Mrs. George Young, of York Mills, and also one son, Seward Seelye, ofWestmoreland. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from his late home, Rev. F.B.Sanford, of the M.E. Church, officiating. Interment was made atWestmoreland Cemetery. The bearers were his son, Seward A. Seelye, andthree sons-in-law, Prof. E.E. Edgerton, C.P. Slone and George Young.
