Note: A curious memory of Aunt Mona... the only time I remembered meeting herwas at my cousin Keith's baptism. She was sitting down chatting with mygrandmother when I tripped and spilled Dr. Pepper on her. Monica M. Collins, 70, of Monroeville, died Wednesday,March 21, 2001, in EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria. She was born Feb. 3, 1931 in Monroeville, and had been a lifelongresident. She attended St. Joseph's Elementary and Monroeville High School. Shereceived her degree in social work at Bowling Green State University,Firelands College. Mrs. Collins was employed at Renaissance House of Norwalk as acaseworker. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville. She enjoyed flowersand gardening. Survivors include her sons Marcus Collins of Norwalk, Jeffrey Collins ofMonroeville, Steven Collins of Larkspur, Colo.; daughters MarlaRichardson, Kimberly Holtz, Monica Parker and Carol Alms, all of Norwalk,Mary Moore, Claire Ryan and Connie Alt, all of Monroeville, BrendaAnderson of Manitou Beach, Mich., Judy Pindell of Mulberry, Fla., andEllen Collins of Antioch, Tenn.; 36 grandchildren and ninegreat-grandchildren; and brother, Arnold Fritz of Apache Junction, Ariz.She was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters. Friends may call Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 98W. Main St., Norwalk, with prayer services at 8:30 p.m. Mass will be heldSaturday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 66 Church St., Monroeville,with Rev. Lawrence Scharf, officiating.
